Pre / Post Appointment Advice
Before
- Do NOT wear eye makeup, mascara, creams or lotions on the eye area on the day of your appointment. Please cleanse your eye area thoroughly prior to your arrival. The cleaner your lashes are the more lashing time you get!
- If you wear contact lenses, please wear or bring your glasses since you cannot reinsert your contact lenses for 3 hours following the application.
- Please limit your intake on caffeine, including coffee and energy drinks, and avoid taking any dietary supplements which can make you shaky or cause your eyes to move excessively.
After
- Be gentle. Do not rub or pull on your eyelash extensions.
- Do not get lashes wet for the first 24 hours.
- Do not brush lashes when wet.
- You may wash your face in the sink using a washcloth, avoiding the eye area.
- Keep all oil based products away from the eyes and remember that everything on your face will travel to the eye area.
- Oil WILL breakdown the adhesive and you will have premature lash extension loss.
- Your hands can get dirty, and dirt is oily, so you’ll want to keep your fingers off your eyes unless cleansing.
- No saunas, sunbeds, facials, or swimming 4-6 hours after application.
- Do not stick your head in the oven when baking! It can singe your extensions! Turn your head away from the oven when putting anything in or pulling anything out.
- Do not use eyelash curlers.
- You should be careful and take specific care with makeup and remover.
- Do not use cotton on your lash extensions.
- Wash your lashes daily. We recommend a foaming cleanser designed for eyelash extensions.
- Mascara is not recommended. If you use mascara for your bottom lashes make sure it is eyelash extension safe (oil-free).
- Do not attempt to remove any lashes on your own, call us for an appointment.
- Brush your lashes daily.
- To extend the lift of your lashes and to keep them from becoming gappy and uneven, please schedule maintenance appointments every 2 or 3 weeks.
- We recommend a maximum of three maintenance appointments before you need a removal and a new set.
